Clinical Integration (CI) is a Quality Improvement (QI) initiative to standardize clinical care to conform with nationally recognized best practices. This involves physicians within an organization practicing evidence-based medicine and sharing patient data and clinical outcomes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care. Progress is assessed by measuring member practitioners’ compliance with protocols (aka quality indicators or measures) adopted or developed by specialty-based CI / QI committees.
